Neurodiversity and Disability Culture in our Music Therapy Practice with Adults with IDD

“Have you ever wanted to learn more about disability culture and ableism? How about how it specifically applies to our music therapy practice?

This pod-course is dedicated to supporting you:

  • understand and identify neurodiversity

  • develop your knowledge of disability culture

  • learn from and with disabled voices

  • identify your own biases related to ableism

  • learn how this affects your approach, your clients, and community”

I created an online course in partnership with Music Therapy Podcast Collective for 5 CMTE credits! MTPC structures their courses in a Listen, Learn, Apply model.

Listen: My course bundles three of my podcast episodes of Navigating Adulthood and IDD to listen to.

Learn: With your purchase, you will receive a workbook where you will have several options for self-study, including film, audio, and written media options you can choose from.

Apply: The workbook ends with some journaling prompts, goal setting, a cultural model, and a recording of the office hour.

MTPC’s courses are created for you to learn in your own time whether that is in the car or doing dishes listening to podcasts or choosing to read articles for the self-study.

This pod-course is currently in the vault.
