This leads me into my word for the year: Support! Last year, I had three words of the year: “resourcefulness, stability, and accessibility.” I definitely felt like I was resourceful, leading to many of the many events, opportunities, and experiences above. As far as stability, I think near the end of the year I found more in my schedule letting go of making weekly YouTube videos, but my word of 2023 reflects some stability I am still looking for. Accessibility will always be a value of Rhythmic Roots Music Services, but it definitely felt like a focus, creating accessible community events and an accessible, inclusive student recital!

While I am excited to continue these values and words into the future, I like the idea of having one word for 2023: Support. I want to continue supporting the community through accessible, inclusive musical experiences as well as using my business to support the greater community through sponsorships and other opportunities. On the flip side, I hope to find more support for myself, reflecting the need for stability last year. I want to make sure I have the supports and systems to keep giving to my community and make sure I am supported as a clinician, teacher, community member, and business owner. I look forward to seeing how having this word as an intention pans out in 2023 and for all of the exciting things ahead! Let’s do this!
